The Opportunity 

Forming part of the Paper and Packaging Technical division the Technical Specialist, is a diverse and interesting role providing technical support to colleagues, customers and suppliers  

Key Accountabilities 

  • Fulfilling the technical lead role in New Product Introduction process which involves taking projects from laboratory development work through to machine trials. This will also require supplier collaboration and off site visits to obtain product validation  

  • Prioritisation and progression of the day to day laboratory work to deliver a first class service to our internal and external customers. This will include communication with external testing houses.  

  • Providing operational support to the Paper business including mill chemistry, troubleshooting, maintenance of documentation eg CoSHH  

  • Progressing technical investigations and producing technical reports for R&D and process problem solving purposes.  

 

What will make you successful?

  • Prioritisation and progression of the day to day laboratory work to deliver a first class service to our internal and external customers. This will include communication with external testing houses. 

  • Providing operational support to the Paper business including mill chemistry, troubleshooting, maintenance of documentation eg CoSHH 

  • Progressing technical investigations and producing technical reports for R&D and process problem solving purposes. 

  • We are looking for a driven individual who has a proven background in a scientific discipline, degree qualified would be preferred however we will consider candidates with relevant experience 

  • Previous experience working in a laboratory/operational environment 

  • Self motivated individual with good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work flexibly within our friendly and collaborative team of technical specialists.
